THE FIRST CSA DAY IS
EASTON AND ST. MICHAELS
CSA DISTRIBUTION ON SATURDAY, JUNE 9, 2012
The Community Support Agriculture is a great way to meet the people that grow the food you take home to your family.
Our CSA consists of 18 weeks of “membership”
Beginning the second full week of June each year
Full-Share
12-14 lbs of vegetables and fruit per week
6-8 items per week
$500 membership fee
Half-Share
5-7 lbs of vegetables and fruit per week
6-8 items per week
$250 membership fee
Fruit Only Share
12 weeks beginning the first week in July
8-10 lbs of fruit per week
$300 membership fee
There are limited memberships at each distribution site
To hold a membership we will accept a deposit of $100
This is non-refundable
Distribution Sites
St. Michaels on Saturday
Easton on Friday
Easton on Saturday
Denton on Thursday
Cambridge on Tuesday
Federalsburg (at the Orchard) on Wednesday
Members receive fresh vegetables and fruit weekly
Each distribution site will be open for 2 hours, between
4pm and 6 pm
on the above mentioned weekdays
And
9am to 11am
on Saturdays in St. Michaels and Easton
At the end of each distribution all shares remaining will immediately be donated to a local food bank
The share will vary depending on the harvest available on any given day
The CSA is a joint venture between you and the farmer.
The risk is shared among us all.
My goal is to make every year a great year.
We work tirelessly to insure a crop that you will enjoy feeding your family
And one that is abundant with fresh vegetables and fruit
You will receive recipes for the various items in your bag
And a list of each item and quantity receive

CSA distribution is Rain or Shine
Volunteering
We strongly encourage volunteering
It is not required by our CSA
Opportunities to Volunteer
At the distribution sites
We will ask members to “sign-up” to man the distribution site once during the season
Harvest & Packing
Each day of distribution we will harvest in the morning and welcome all helping hands at the Orchard
What about that “Fruit Only Share”?
Peaches, Apples, Blueberries, Blackberries, Grapes, Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Gourmet Melons, Honey, and Preserves made from these fruits
Farming Practices
Our goal is to keep our orchard as “clean” as possible
To that end, we us
Integrated Pest Management
Our family eats the fresh vegetables and fruit we produce here, so we have the same concerns for our safety as you have for your family
We hand-pick every piece of fruit and every vegetable that we bring to you
